This federally-funded program is intended to help students develop better and stronger reading skills. A student must be in the bottom third of his/her class in Reading to qualify.

Reading Recovery
A specialized reading teacher works individually with select students in the first and second grade to help them to improve their reading and comprehension skills.

Preschool
Our preschool program serves children who are 3 or 4 years of age by September 30th of the current school year. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The program is designed to meet each child's individual needs. It also aims to meet the needs of the community served and its ethnic and cultural characteristics. Every child receives a variety of learning experiences to foster intellectual, social, physical, and emotional growth. Our program has a low child-to-staff ratio. Staff members receive training in child development and early childhood education. Children with special needs are integrated with typical children. Special services such as speech, occupational and/or physical therapy, are provided in the child's natural environment.
