South Central high school students along with some faculty and administration took part in The Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch. Everyone on the count of three "crunched" into apples on the football field at the same time while forming the shape of an apple. The Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch encourages healthy eating and supports Farm to School and other local food purchasing initiatives throughout the region. It's also a fun way to connect food and agriculture.
The South Central FFA and South Central Food Service administration is joining the Great Lakes state of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and the Great State of Ohio in celebrating National Farm to School month by crunching into locally grown apples from Springhill Fruit Farm in Shiloh. Thank you to all farmers, without whom we would not be able to have a school food service program.
