Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the bus survey this past school year. We appreciate the time and interest that you took to complete our bus survey. We have analyzed the costs associated with a dual bus run and a single bus run; as well as reviewed all of the survey responses. I wanted to let you know that at this time the S C Board of Education has decided to stay with the dual bus run for the 2016-2017 school year. However, I can assure you that the conversation concerning whether we should remain with a dual bus run, or return to a single bus run, will continue as we seek to make an informed decision that will benefit our S C students and community.

Please direct an questions, comments, or concerns to me at Mhasselbusch@south-central.org.

Spread the word: Kids eat free this summer!

This summer, the Summer Food Service Program is providing children with free, healthy meals, and we need your help spreading the word to families and students. It's easy to participate and no sign up is required. Simply call 1-866-3-HUNGRY or visit education.ohio.gov/KidsEat for meal times and locations.

The program ensures children ages 18 and younger continue to receive nutritious meals during the summer break from school, when they do not have access to school breakfast or lunch. Children with disabilities who are on approved individualized education programs may participate through age 21. The Ohio Department of Education administers the program with funding from the U.S. Department of Education.

Delayed Start Days for 2016-2017

Greetings Trojan Parents,

I am pleased to share with you that the South Central Board of Education has approved a once a month, two hour delay start, for the 2016 – 2017 school year to provide our teachers with necessary time for professional development and collaboration. Research confirms that the most important factor contributing to a students’ success in school is the quality of teaching. Professional development is the most effective strategy that school districts have to increase the quality of instructional delivery. Student learning and achievement increase when educators are provided with professional development opportunities and time for professional collaboration. I want to thank you in advance for supporting our efforts to provide our teachers with the necessary tools and professional development opportunities to increase their effectiveness in the classroom to benefit all of our students.

Please be informed that there will be a two hour delay on the following dates:

September 7, 2016

October 5, 2016

November 2, 2016

December 7, 2016
