WELCOME TO OUR LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER
Hello, my name is Mrs. Melissa Wallace. I serve as the South Central Library Media Specialist. It is my goal to create an atmosphere in the library that provides our students with resources, literature, skills, and a fondness for reading. This website was created to extend our library walls and connect you to our many services and happenings.

PATRON POLICIES
Students visit the library weekly with their class and/or during a variety of open time slots.
Students are permitted to check out 1 library book at a time.
All library books have a 2 week check out, but can be renewed!
We do NOT charge overdue fines.
Books lost or damaged MUST be paid for in full by a parent/guardian.

Our material is cataloged online. If you or your student would like to search what is available on our library shelves use our online catalog. Students are encouraged to use the online catalog and begin to discover how the library is set up and organized. If our library does NOT have a particular book, that you recommend we have, please add the title to our "Wish List' located under the New Material Tab.
Put together for our South Central students is a Symbaloo WebMix. Here students will find visual links to many educational websites. Students have easy one click access to a variety of websites that teachers are asking them to use as well as websites that can be both fun and educational. Home access to our Symbaloo gallery is as easy as using the link to the left.
South Central subscribes to ALL the quizzes Accelerated Reader offers. If you would like to know if a certain title is an AR quiz use the link above. Students are welcomed and encouraged to read titles from home or the public library BUT all quizzes MUST be taken during school hours on school computers. Students at South Central may be involved in our Accelerated Reading Program. The link above will allow parent access to their student's records to see how they are performing on quizzes. Parent's will use their student's Username and Password to log in. Ask your student for this information or contact me at:

Your public library is a great resource for parents and students. Our school library works closely together with the Huron County Community Libraries in Greenwich and North Fairfield. Please use the link above to access their great resources and material.
Kent District Library offers a GREAT database of book series. Use this link to find out which book is next in the series, or to be sure that you read book series in the correct order. You can search by author, book title, or series name.
A NEW search engine designed with kids in mind. KidRex is a fun and safe search for kids, by kids! KidRex searches emphasize kid-related webpage's from across the entire web and are powered by Google Custom Search™ and use Google SafeSearch™ technology. They also offer tips for online safety. This site is a great combination for both parents and kids.
