This week is Right to Read Week in the K8 building; reading with a flashlight was a success! The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go. — Dr. Seuss, “I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!”

Also, kids can attend special sessions in the high school library sponsored by Riley's Angels Therapy Dogs and in the cafeteria sponsored by S.A.D.D. The event is free, with childcare provided, and we hope to see you there, taking a proactive step in ensuring a safe online environment for our teens! Mobile Devices - Cell phones and other electronic devices are often permitted on the school bus as long as: ::They are in backpacks or other holders, keeping hands free to use handrails while boarding and departing the bus. ::Sound is muted or headphones, earbuds or similar devices are used, to not distract the driver or disrupt other students. Some drivers have a "silent in the morning" rule that should be followed. ::Content does not violate the law or school district policy and procedures. Students should be reminded that they are responsible for what content is on their phone/device. ::Should be silenced at railroad crossings and otherwise at the request of the driver. Ringers should be silenced or muted anytime riders are on the bus. ***Remind your student that the driver is in charge of the bus and all students on it. The bus is considered "school property" and therefore any misbehavior or law violations are the same as if they took place on school grounds. Respecting the driver, the same as they would a teacher or principal, and a "thank you" goes a long way. ***Please put your phone down when you drive to keep our bus drivers, students and other persons on the road safe. Amber lights are a WARNING that the bus is stopping and loading or unloading students. Red lights are a sign that the bus has ALREADY STOPPED and students are on the move - out of their seats, loading/unloading and/or crossing the road! Together We Can!
