Don't forget...today marks the first day of the READBowl!
What is it:
READBowl is a free, global reading competition designed to motivate students to read more by turning reading into a friendly challenge, similar in spirit to a sports bowl game. It was created by former NFL player and literacy advocate Malcolm Mitchell and his nonprofit Read With Malcolm (Share the Magic Foundation).
📚 K-4 Classes form teams and track the number of minutes they read during the competition.
🏆 It runs over several weeks (often starting near the week before the college football national championship and concluding around the NFL Super Bowl).
🌎 It’s a global reading competition — teams from around the world can participate.
📈 Schools and teachers log their students’ reading minutes, and at the end, winners are recognized based on highest average reading minutes across several grade-level categories.
🎯 The goal is to promote daily reading habits, foster accountability, and build excitement around literacy.

Your purchase is an investment in our youth, our community, and the future of school athletics at South Central Schools.

🎉 Big congratulations to our very own SRO, Officer Lance Seaman! 🎉
